Abstract:
Today we always
seriously discuss about the youth generation. In India, vast population of the
students is studying in thousand of schools and colleges. They are play
significant role in the rebuilding and reconstruction of nation. Students can
play an important role in the progress of nation. So day by day increase our
expectation from youth. Youth will give higher education for aware about their
rights and make India is bright.
Introduction:
Always we see
the youth in higher education means college students came in the college but
not sit in the class room. Stand hour to hour on the coin box or in the cycle
stand with friends or mobile. Mobile is always near the ear. Number of students
chatting in canteen .Many youth addict of vices. Now a day we read in the
newspaper, college youth accepted
immoral way. They are become a leader of thief. Educated students are
adopting the wrong ways. They adopt the evil ways; hurt the people in the
society physically & emotionally. So create the problem of human being. So
we see "The
present conditions of the world are economic instability, social dissensions,
political dissatisfaction and international distrust should awaken the youth
from their slumber and make them enquire what the future is going to bring. In order for youth to contribute to the enjoyment of human
rights and the establishment of world peace, the world community must provide
the necessary means for educating youth in both practical skills and spiritual
values. Defines ‘youth’, as those persons between the
ages of 15 and 24 years, Within the category of "youth", it is also
important to distinguish between teenagers (13-19) and young adults (20-24),
since the sociological, psychological and health problems they face may differ.
Population of youth:
Approximately one billion youth live in the
world today. This means that approximately one person in five is between the
age of 15 and 24 years, or 18% of the world’s populations are
"youth". The majority (almost 85%) of the world’s youth live in
developing countries, with approximately 60 percent in Asia alone. A remaining
23 percent live in the developing regions of Africa, and Latin America and the
Caribbean.

There
are 315 million young people aged 10–24 years in India, representing 30 percent
of the country's population.
·
Many
youth are illiterate or have very low educational attainment .31% of young
women and 14% percent of young men are illiterate. Only 29% young women and 38
% of young men have completed 10 or more years of education.
·
As
per Maharashtra state youth policy declaration statistics, only 12% youth take
benefit of higher education and remaining 88% youth are dropped out from the
education system at primary and secondary level. Thus it is highly possible
that youth conferences will give opportunities to these 12% vocal youth.
Importance of
Education:
Education is a
very important role in our lives. Everyone has been being educated since the
day they were born. There is a rapidly growing demand for a higher education in
the world today. Higher education is difficult to receive, the rewards of
self-improvement, job insurance, a development of character, and social
improvements. Students of today are the citizens of tomorrow students life is
the most impressionable period of life and during this period, the foundations
of life are laid, so they should develop the qualities of head and heart which
may stand them in good way to future.
Role of Youth Students
in free India:
India has a vast
population of students who are studying in thousands of schools and colleges.
These students can play a very significant role in the re-building and
reconstruction of our nation. This can only happen if their energies are
properly channelized. The students had also played in a very important role
during India's struggle for independence. India expects everyone to do his duty
towards her. Students are no exception to it. They, in fact, have more responsibility
and have to play an important role in free India. Upon our students has fallen
the big task of rapid reconstruction of their backward country of building up
the 'Ram Rajya' of Mahatma Gandhi's dream. To accomplish that task they must
qualify themselves as teachers, doctors, engineers, technicians and statement.
By their contribution in the fields of art science and literature, they must
secure for India is honored place amongst the nations of the world.
But after
India's independence it seems that students have no aim and noble cause before
them for which they can utilize their energy. From time to time we hear about
student's indiscipline in difference universities and colleges. This again
proves that the student's power is being misused for destructive activities
instead of any constructive work. In reality, the students lack proper guidance
and good leadership.
For some years
indiscipline among the students in India had become a serious problem. They
were going on strikes and organizing demonstrations, agitations etc.
·
They
were disrespecting their teachers and college authorities.
·
They
were also fighting with the police.
·
Thus
the whole academic atmosphere in the universities was vitiated. In certain
universities for years together no examinations could be held due to these
problems.
Responsibility
of Youth students:
For all this indiscipline and disturbances in the colleges, we cannot hold the students exclusively responsible. To some extent the teachers, college authorities as well as the political leaders of our country are also responsible. Some political parties also incite the students against the authorities. These political parties play with live and careers of the innocent students. There should be a ban on the political parties taking any participation in the affairs of the students.

The students
possess immense youth power. In the absence of positive and constructive
leadership they are led astray. The government should provide them with healthy
and constructive leadership. In this manner they can be associated in bringing
about social, economic, political moral reforms in India. They can play an
important role in the progress of our nation.
The students of
today are the citizens of tomorrow. Let them feel their responsibility towards
the society and the nation, so that they can become good citizens later on.
There are many ways in which the students can best serve their country. First
of all, the students should imbibe the spirit of discipline, because without
discipline no nation can rise in the world today. It is due to discipline alone
that countries like Japan, Germany, Russia and China are today powerful
nations.
The students can
also be associated with the removal of many social evils in the society. The
students can help in rooting out out the evil of dowry from the society by
taking solemn pledge; they will not accept any dowry at the time of their
marriage. they can help in the removal other evils like gambling, drinking,
making illicit liquor etc.
The other important role which the
students can play is that they should work for the national unity and emotional
integration in the country. They should work against the communal, provincial,
linguistic and separatist tendencies in the country. They should develop and
promote the spirit of Indian first and Indian last, rather than thinking in
terms of a Sikh, Muslim, Christian or a Hindi.
Thus we can see
that the students can play a very important role in the regeneration of nation.
They can help country during certain natural calamities like floods,
earthquakes, droughts, etc. The India of tomorrow belongs of them and they can
heron in making it a great power and a prosperous nation.
Expectation from
youth students:
·
Free
India wants youths of healthy body and huge courage. Hence every student should undergo physical training so as to have a
sound body. But more physical training is not enough. Free India will require
soldiers to preserve her hard won freedom.
·
During
the training and leisure hours, students can spread literacy amongst the masses
and help the Govt. to eradicate illiteracy and corruption.
·
India
needs social workers and students should fill the gap.
·
They
should also carry on a drive for village uplift.
·
They
should promote communal harmony in the country.
·
India
is a peace loving country. We always want to establish world peace. Here
students can do a lot by acting as unofficial ambassadors of India. They should
establish contacts with student of various countries and should even join
international bodies of students.
·
They
must take part in politic: but not at the cost of their studies.
·
Students
are the torch bears of the glory of India. They must preserve and spread the
light of her glory by their glorious deeds.
·
Their
role in free India is bright. They are to shape the future destiny of the
country which they can do only when they shape their own character and
personality.
Conclusion:
Lastly it can conclude that every
youth in the country enjoy their role and responsibility properly, and then
atmosphere in the society will became healthy. If the youth students use their
energy and skills in constructive and proper manner, defiantly we can enjoy our
life safely & smoothly. So every human being can enjoy their rights in the
right sense. It is the need of the time.
